“Values (tikanga) are deeply held beliefs about what is important or desirable. They are expressed through the ways in which people think and act” (New Zealand Curriculum p. 10).
The Elmwood school community has developed five values which are an integral part of everyday teaching and learning at our school. In developing these values we have considered what they mean for our learners and the wider community. Our thoughts, words and actions reflect these values. They are actively promoted and expected of all people within our community.
Independence, Collaboration, Excellence, Creativity and Respect.
Our values meet our vision as they aim to `inspire today’s learners to be successful in tomorrow’s world’.
